The
seed of FPM was planted in 1988 when Wayne Visser and
Venetia Buissinne started a small focused financial
services practice to handle all aspects of financial
planning.
Liz
Davis joined in 1998 to run the growing short term
insurance division, followed shortly afterwards by Andrew
Kennedy and Michael Tongs to provide additional expertise
in life assurance, investments and employee benefits.
In
planning the growth of the business and to be able to
provide clients with specialist advice in each area of
financial planning, we realized that each director should
take responsibility for a core division.
In
2003, the short-term insurance business of PBS was
successfully merged into FPM. This enhanced our
intellectual capital as Paul and Vaughan Hansen took
equity in FPM and shared the responsibility for the
division with Liz Davis.
In
2006, Nigel Hardres-Williams, looking for a coherent
succession plan, sold his short-term insurance practice to
FPM. Nigel
now heads up our Short-Term Division and is Managing
Director (Short Term).
In
2008 we had two shareholders leave us with Paul Hansen
starting a new life in Cape Town and Liz Davis starting
Davis Embroidery.
The
latest acquisition was concluded with FPM buying the
business of Reece, Campbell and Co in March this year.
Rodney Caruana and his team have joined the FPM family.
We
believe that this latest addition to FPM adds vibrancy and
new energy and we are looking forward to the next fifteen
years, at least, of working together and providing the
best advice possible and independent financial solutions
to our clients needs.
An
interesting point to mention is that the senior management
team that now takes responsibility for FPM has a
collective 258 years of experience in the financial
services industry. This illustrates the depth and
